A glass tube heat exchanger for heating the scrubbed clean gas flow of a waste-gas cleaning installation with hot crude gas in which the hot crude gas is passed through the glass tubes and the scrubbed clean gas is passed through the heat exchanger housing whose outside walls which come into contact with the clean gas are of a double-wall structure and are heated characterised in that heated fresh air circulates in the cavities (8) of the outside walls (7), the fresh air being kept moving by a fan (9).
