Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0136245A2] Apparatus for stringing rackets and especially tennis rackets. It is composed essentially of a device (10) for holding the frame of the racket and a mechanism (30) for tensioning the string (32). The holding mechanism comprises a tiltable cradle consisting of two columns (11) carrying arches (12) and which are mounted on a plate (13) integral with a rotating shaft (14), the assembly being fixed to a pivoting lever (16). The tensioning mechanism comprises a jaw (31) for fixing the string (32) and which is integral with a movable carriage (33). The apparatus is particularly advantageous since it permits efficient semi-automatic stringing. <IMAGE>
