Abstract (en)
Equipment for stitching up the ends of the legs of a pair of tights incorporates a pair of rotating turrets of which one (Al) supports several pairs of horizontal suction tubes (3) which collect the legs of basic tubular tights fabricated by an adjacent machine (T). Twin pairs of prong jaws (6) extend the waistband of the stocking body to a rectangular form large enough to allow the body to be inverted about the outside of the tubes containing the legs. The legs are inverted so that as the first turret steps through its rotation, the ends of the legs are presented respectively to one of two conventional units (8) for trimming and stitching tht toe ends. A further multiple jaw carriage (B2) similar to that (B1) which transferred the stocking body from (T) to (A1) then transfers the stocking body to supports (31) on the second turret (A2) where the gusset region of the body is stiffened and, if necessary, cut open, before presenting the tights to a conventional machine (5) for stitching the gusset, opt. via an intermediate transfer device (G).

La machine comporte 4 carrousels successifs T,A1,A2,S. 2 jeux de 4 doigts expanseurs (B1,B2) saisissent la ceinture, la conforment en rectangle et la tirent par dessus un des bras (30) (31) du carrousel, suivant en rebroussant le collant chaque fois. A1, dont les bras (30) sont aspirants, présente les pieds du collant à une machine à coudre CP. A2 étire la région perinéale pour la présenter à un dispositif (35) de découpe de l'ouverture du soufflet. Un dispositif (G) saisit les bords de cette ouverture pour la présenter au carroussel S où le soufflet est préparé et cousu.
