Switch-position indicator with a tubular casing (1) forming at one end an opening (3) into which symbol surface elements indicating an operational state are pivotably movable by drive means, characterised in that eccentrically transversely to the longitudinal axis of the casing there is arranged in the region of the opening (3) a pivot shaft (7) for a disc (9) carrying a symbol surface, this disc (9) being pivotably movable between a first position and a second position and being directed substantially at right angles to the longitudinal axis of the casing in the first position and substantially parallel to the said axis in the second position.
