1. Pneumatic cushion, substantially made of rubber or rubber-like materials, for use in the lower portion of a back rest of a motor vehicle seat provided with two edge beads (2), the pneumatic cushion having two chambers (3, 4) which are disposed one above the other and extend horizontally at right angles to the seat, characterised in that an additional chamber (8) is disposed on each side of the horizontally extending chambers (3, 4) and extends vertically thereto, substantially over the height of these chambers (3, 4) in the longitudinal direction of the back rest, in that the compressed air connection (9-12) of each chamber (3, 4, 8) is disposed at the lower end of the pneumatic cushion, the upper transversely extending chamber (4) surrounding the lower, shorter chamber (3) laterally in a symmetrical manner via narrow extension portions (13, 14), and the compressed air connection (12) of the upper chamber (4) extends from one (14) of the two symmetrical extension portions (13, 14).

Dieses für die Rückenlehnen von Kraftfahrzeugsitzen bestimmte Kissen hat nach bekannten Vorschlägen mehrere sich quer zum Sitz erstreckende Kammern. Um bei solchen Kissen nicht nur durch Aufblasen einzelner Kammern eine Verstellmöglichkeit nach unten bzw. nach oben herbeiführen zu können, sind aufgrund der Erfindung weitere Kammern zu beiden Seiten der waagerechten Kammern vorgesehen, die sich im wesentlichen über die Höhe der etwa waagerecht verlaufenden Kammern erstrecken. Dadurch wird eine weitgehende Beeinflussung der Lendenrandbereiche des Benutzers durch eine entsprechende Beaufschlagung der senkrechten Kammern möglich.
