[origin: US4576120A] The support girders of the heat exchanger are connected at the ends to a tension band on an adjacent wall by a connection with transfers stress in a symmetric manner. A connecting element is welded to a tension band in a symmetric manner and carries pivot links which, in turn, are articulated to the end of a girder. Loads from the girder are transferred to the tension band in the central plane of the tension band.
