Roller shutter consisting of two lateral bearing shells (1), a roller shutter roll (3) composed of roller shutter bars (3') and a roller shutter box (2), wherein the roller shutter roll is borne at the bearing shells and provided within the roller shutter box, wherein furthermore a lower portion (5) of the cutside wall (6) of the respective bearing shell forms a funnel shape guiding the unrolling roller shutter bars to the exit opening, wherein the exit opening (7) is provided in a middle region of the cross-section of the shell and the vertical centre line (8) of the exit opening is displaced from the vertical central axis (9) of the reeling space (10) of the respective lateral bearing shell towards the inside of the bearing shell, wherein furthermore the outside wall portion forming the funnel shape is bowed inwardly and a respective guide (13), preferably a guide rail, which with the funnel-shaped portion of the outside wall of the bearing shell forms a guide for the respective side edge (3") of the roller shutter roll or its roller shutter bars, is arranged near the end of the respective bearing shell at a spacing (a), which corresponds to the thickness of a roller shutter bar plus a clearance, from the funnel-shaped portion of the outside wall, characterised thereby, that the respective bearing shell (1) displays no inside wall opposite the funnel-shaped portion (5) of the outside wall.
