1. A device operating in the vertical direction of movement for shrinking a plastic sheet envelope (6) on to a pack (5) comprising, in particular, a pallet, a shrink hood (1) of a size sufficient to cover the pack and pallet, if used, which can be raised and lowered by means of a hoisting device and which inside is equipped with heaters for shrinking the plastic sheet envelope when lowered over a pack loosely covered with the said plastic sheet envelope, said pack being conveyable to the area underneath the shrink hood (1) by means of a conveyer and raisable from that conveyer by means of a lifting device far enough to permit the plastic sheet envelope (6) to hang down freely beyond the bottom edge of the pack (5) or the pallet, characterized in that the hoisting device for the shrink hood (1) and the lifting device for the pack (5) are coupled together to be jointly driven by a common hoist drive (2, 16) incorporating a compensating device (11-14) to compensate for the difference in length between the lowering travel of the shrink hood (1) and the shorter lifting travel for lifting the pack (5) or pallet (8) from the conveyer (7).

Es wird eine Vorrichtung zum Aufschrumpfen einer Folienhülle auf ein Paket, insbesondere Palette mit einer heb-und senkbaren Schrumpfhaube, die innen mit Heizgeräten zum Schrumpfen der Folienhülle ausgestattet ist, beschrieben; die Schrumpfhaube wird dazu über ein mit der Folienhülle lose überzogenes Paket abgesenkt, welches mit einer Fördereinrichtung unter den Bereich der Schrumpfhaube angefördert und soweit von der Fördereinrichtung abhebbar ist, daß die Folienhülie frei über die Unterkante des Pakets bzw. der Palette herabhängt. Dabei werden die Schrumpfhaube und das Paket durch einen gemeinsamen Antrieb bewegt. Dieser Antrieb enthält eine Ausgleichseinrichtung, die den gegenüber dem Absankweg der Schrumpfhaube kürzeren Hubweg für das Abheben des Pakets bzw. der Palette von der Fördereinrichtung regelt.
