Installation pour purifier des gaz de particules électriquement conductrices, comme de la suie et autres, en particulier pour purifier des gaz d'échappement de combustibles fossiles, comme les gaz d'échappement de moteurs diesel et autres, dotée d'un coagulateur (10) traversé par les gaz, dans laquelle, pour éviter la formation d'un pont de court-circuit entre l'électrode (12) et le boîtier (11) du coagulateur (10) par la sédimentation d'agglomérats, l'isolateur (13) servant à isoler l'électrode (12) par le boîtier (11) présente, à l'endroit, situé dans l'intérieur du boîtier, où l'électrode (12) sort de l'isolateur (13), un segment annulaire (18) saillant axialement, sur lequel est disposée au moins une zone incandescente (19) de préférence annulaire. En raison de la température élevée, environ 450oC, qui règne dans la zone incandescente (19), les agglomérats qui s'y déposent sont consumés.
