A device for embossing a foil, comprising a pair of embossing rollers with pyramid-shaped projections and recesses respectively between which the foil may be passed through, characterized in that both rollers (1, 2) of the pair are equipped with exactly similar hardened pyramid-shaped teeth (3), such teeth having a height of 0,25 to 0,3 mm and engaging into each other by 0,15 to 0,20 mm if the mutual distance between teeth is about 0,4 mm, in order to emboss the foils and to synchronize the rotation of both rollers (1, 2), whereby one roller only is driven whereas the other is carried along synchronously.

Zum Satinieren einer Folie, insbesondere Metallfolie, werden zwei gleichartige Walzen (1, 2) derart angeordnet, dass sie mit ihrer Riffelung oder Zahnung (3) ineinander greifen. Es wird damit eine besonders gute Satinierung der zwischen den Walzen durchgeführten Folie erzielt und die Satinierwalzen (1, 2) sind durch den gegenseitigen Eingriff der Riffelung oder Verzahnung (3) gegenseitig synchronisiert. Es ist somit auch kein besonderes Synchronisationsgetriebe erforderlich.
