A lightning unit comprising a casing sealingly covered by glass means and further comprising a lamp fastened to a socket in said casing, characterized in that said lamp is a halogen bulb with a reflector coaxially surrounding the halogen bulb which has fastening means (23) arranged in coaxial relationship to said socket (20) and sealingly connected to said casing (10), wherein said socket (20) and said fastening means (23) comprise faces in mutually opposed relationship, said faces forming bevelling surfaces (21, 25) inclined, with respect to the lightning unit axis (22), at an angle different from a right angle, and wherein said fastening means (23) and said socket (20) are lockingly engageable in different relative rotary positions with respect to each other.
