[origin: US4605179A] In an apparatus for winding up flat material webs or foils, by means of a rotary winding cylinder, the cylinder is provided with a longitudinal slot and which accommodates a clamping device and by which a portion of the web to be wound up and introduced through the slot by means of a vertically movable blade which causes the web to be seized and firmly held. Upon finishing a roll, the seized portion of the web is disengaged and the roll can be withdrawn by means of a take-off device. This makes it possible to wind up the web at a high speed without forming folds. Also, the laps of the formed roll are very firmly wound and their edges are throughout in a definite position so that they may be heated in a working station.

Bei einer Einrichtung (1) zum Wickeln von flächigen Stoffoder Folienbahnen (2) mittels einer rotierend antreibbaren Wickelwalze (11) ist in diese ein Klemmvorrichtung (21) eingesetzt, in die die Bahn (2) mittels eines höhenverstellbaren Schwertes (3) durch eine in die Wickelwalze (11) eingearbeitete Längsnut (12) teilweise einführbar ist. Nach Erstellung eines Wickels ist dessen eingespanntes Teil von der Klemmvorrichtung (21) lösbar und der Wickel kann mittels einer Abzugsvorrichtung abgenommen werden. Auf diese Weise ist es möglich, die Wickelwalze (11) wAhrend des Wickelns mit hoher Geschwindigkeit anzutreiben, ohne daß sich Falten bilden. Außerdem sind die Bahnen außerst fest gewickelt und deren Kanten nehmen stets eine definierte Lage ein, so daß diese in einer Arbeitsstation bearbeitet werden können.
