[origin: WO8403286A1] Raw sugar-beet pulp impregnated with acidified water is subjected to a succession of alternated compressions and decompressions. This mechanical stress causes a sort of retting of the pulp fibers, that is to say an effect such that they become separate from each other, their directional rearrangement and the dissolution of the pectin.

On soumet de la pulpe sucrière brute imbibée d'eau acidifiée à une succession de compressions et décompressions alternées. Cette contrainte mécanique provoque une sorte de rouissage des fibres de la pulpe, c'est-à-dire un effet tel qu'elles se séparent les unes des autres, leur réarrangement directionnel et la dissolution de la pectine.
