In a device for clamping workpieces on machine tool benches, in particular as circular chucks on lathes having a clamping plate, the grooves are formed by a spiral whose windings emanate from a fixed point. The vacuum source is advantageously connected to this point. The consequence of this is that, when clamping a workpiece, it is in principle only necessary to employ a small elastic gasket at one point in order to separate from the vacuum source the part of the spiral groove which is no longer in the projection area of the workpiece. <IMAGE>

Bei der Vorrichtung zum Aufspannen von Werkstücken aufWerkzeugmaschinentischen, insbesondere als Rundfutter auf Drehmaschinen mit einer Spannplatte werden die Nuten durch eine Spirale gebildet, deren Windungen von einem festen Punkt ausgehen. In vorteilhafter Weise ist in diesem Punkt die Unterdruckquelle angeschlossen. Hierdurch ist es beim Aufspannen eines Wekstückes grundsätzlich nur noch erforderlich, an einer Stelle eine kleine elastische Dichtung einzusetzen, um den Teil der spiralförmigen Nut von der Unterdruckquelle zu trennen, der nicht mehr im Projektionsbereich des Wekstückes liegt.
