Lamp holder for lights, in particular for motor vehicle lights, with a base plate (1) and at least one lamp adaptor (2) in two parts, the lower adaptor part (4) of which is connected to the base plate (1) and the upper adaptor part (3) of which is provided with a hole (5) to accommodate the base of a lamp (6), whereby contact with this lamp is established via a flexible contact foil (15) inserted between the upper and lower adaptor part, which after the fitting of the lamp (6) abuts against both the lamp base sleeve (9) constructed as a pole and against its base contact (26) acted upon by a spring clip (25), characterised in that the axis of the bore (5) of the upper adaptor part (3) runs approximately perpendicular to the surface of the base plate (1) on which the lower adaptor part (4) is fitted on the same axis and in that the contact foil (15) placed on the same side of the base plate (1) as the lamp adaptor is run from the free edge of the lower adaptor part (4) at its inside wall against the base plate (1) returning up to the spring clip (25), abuts there and is held in this position by the annular upper adaptor part (3).
