[origin: EP0139957A2] In this accessory device, compact or inflatable seating (4) which has a backrest (5) adjustable via a lockable joint fitting (7) is connected to a surf board in a simple and easily detachable manner. It is fastened to the surf board by means of elastic straps (8, 9) which pass through beneath the surf board, are adjustable in length and have hooks (10) at the ends which can be put into eyes (11) attached to the margins of the seating (4). In order to prevent the seat from tilting backwards during stress and in particular during paddling from the seat and to prevent the reaction forces which occur as a result, a supporting edge (13) is located on the lower, rear part of the seat or the backrest (5). To improve adhesion of the straps (8, 9) in addition to the elastic pulling effect, the adhering surfaces of the straps below the surf board or at its lateral margins can be provided with knobs or else a textured surface. <IMAGE>
