[origin: EP0140216A2] In order to control and supervise transport arrangements with several track transport vehicles on a common track divided up into sections, track areas are reserved at certain times for the exclusive use of particular transport vehicles. The execution of a transport is transmitted to a transport vehicle in the "waiting" state, an area of associated track sections required for the execution of the transport being reserved for this transport vehicle (Figure 1). A precondition for the transmission of the transport order is that the required track area can be reserved. The reservation is cancelled again after the termination of the transport. If two or more adjacent transport vehicles cannot carry out any further transports since they are mutually blocking the required track areas, these transport vehicles, with the exception of one, are moved so far that the track area required for the execution of a transport becomes free for this one vehicle.
