[origin: WO8403912A1] A wave action motor having an impeller moved by a float (32). Various configurations of the impeller are disclosed. These include a pair of arms (24, 26) disposed at a fixed angle and a chain (22) or arcuate gear (122) coupled to the arms; rack (222) gear mounted for generally vertically sliding movement; and rotary gear (322) with eccentrically connected linkage (48). The float (32) is coupled to a swivel arrangement (90) to turn in the direction of wave current and has an inclined underside. The float provides an additional lift over and beyond its buoyancy. Also disclosed is an arrangement to adjust the float to different tide levels.

Un moteur fonctionnant par l'action des vagues possède une roue motrice mue par un flotteur (32). Diverses configurations de la roue motrice sont décrites. Elles comportent une paire de bras (24, 26) disposés à un angle fixe et une chaîne (22) ou un engrenage arqué (122) couplé aux bras, un engrenage à crémaillère (222) monté pour permettre un mouvement de coulissement généralement vertical, ainsi qu'un engrenage rotatif (322) avec une liaison (48) connectée excentriquement. Le flotteur (32) est raccordé à un dispositif pivotant (90) pour tourner dans la direction des vagues et il possède un côté inférieur incliné. Le flotteur offre une force ascensionnelle supplémentaire supérieure à sa flottabilité. Est également décrit un dispositif pour ajuster le flotteur à différents niveaux de marée.
