Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0141214A2] 1. Tongue (18) for a rotating latch (11) comprising a longitudinally extended tongue body, at one end of which is provided an opening (64) for fastening it non-rotatably to the latch shaft (14) and at the other end of which is provided a leading surface (24) inclined relative to a surface perpendicular to the axis of the latch shaft (30), which on closing lies behind the door frame, the tongue (18) being formed in such a way that the fastening nut (34) for the rotating latch (11) can be passed over the tongue (18) fastened to the latch shaft (30) and the tongue (18) has surrounding the opening (64) a contact surface (28) facing towards the latch housing (10), characterised in that in the contact surface (28) of the tongue (18) is provided a circular slot (32) coaxial with the latch shaft (30) to accomodate a torsion spring (36), which torsion spring (36) is supported by its one end (40) on the tongue (18) and by its other end (42) on the latch housing (10) and is tensioned in such a way that it pushes the tongue (18) into the closed position, and that the leading surface (24) forms a surface protruding convexly in such a way that this surface both in a section parallel to the axis of the latch shaft (30) and to the axis (31) of the tongue (18) and in a section perpendicular to the axis of the latch shaft (30) and parallel to the axis (31) of the tongue (18) has a curvature protruding outwards (R1, R2, D), that the tongue (18) forms a diecast body, which has facing the door leaf (26) and parallel to the latter a base plate strip (56) from which go out side walls (58, 60, 62) extending away from the door leaf (26), forming on the one hand the convex leading surface (24), on the other hand reinforcing walls (58, 62) suporting this leading surface (24) and running along the sides of the base plate strip (56), and that the reinforcing walls (58, 62) running along the sides of the base plate strip (56) have a height (66, 68) decreasing preferably linearly towards the opening (64) for the latch shaft (30).
