For this purpose, the nonwoven is heated up by means of air penetration on a sieve drum of a flow dryer to a high percentage of the bonding temperature, and immediately thereafter is embossed with internally heated rolls in the squeeze roll nip of a calender. The apparatus provided for conducting the process consists of a sieve drum device wherein the embossing calender is arranged.
