A method for drying saw wood, in which by means of fans driven by frequence converter-controlled three-phase motors an air flow is guided through saw wood layers which are stacked spaced apart in a drying chamber, said air flow being conditioned by means of a heating device and a dehumidifying device and being reversed after a predetermined reversing time by reversing the fans, characterised in that the air flow is reversed after a maximum reversing time of approx. 30 min.
