[origin: US4566017A] A method and apparatus for increasing inking resolution with an ink-mosaic recording device. In order to increase the resolution simply and without additional transducers, each transducer is comprised of two contacted piezoelectric strips which are enclosed between plates. By means of differing voltage on the strips, the transducer bends in addition to a change in cross-section of the channel formed. Thus, it becomes possible to eject drops of fluid at different positions intermediate undeflected drop ejection positions.
