[origin: US4602924A] A separator for collecting solid particles from a gas stream by centrifugal force comprises a vertical cylindrical housing having a coaxial top gas discharge pipe, a lower gas supply line extending coaxially into the housing, and a solids outlet which is laterally disposed in the lower portion of the housing. That separator has its gas supply line closed at its upper end and merging into at least one duct by which a vertically rising gas stream is deflected into a substantially horizontal direction that is tangential to the gas supply line.

Zum Abscheiden von Feststoffpartikeln aus einem Gasstrom mittels Fliehkraft wird eine Vorrichtung vorgeschlagen, bestehend im wesentlichen aus einem vertikal angeordneten zylindrischen Gehäuse mit einem koaxialen oberen Gasauslaßrohr, einer sich koaxial bis in das Gehäuse hinein erstreckenden unteren Gaszuleitung und einem seitlich unten am Gehäuse angeordneten Feststoffauslaß) der dadurch gekennzeichnet ist, daß die Gaszuleitung 2 an ihrem oberen Ende geschlossen ist und einen Kanal 3 (oder höchstens zwei Kanäle) aufweist, in dem ein senkrecht von unten ankommender Gasstrom in eine im wesentlichen horizontale und zur Gaszuleitung 2 tangentiale Richtung gelenkt wird.
