[origin: US4570302A] The device comprises a staple provided with means for attaching it to the article to be retained, for example a billfold. This staple supports a steel wire, which is bent so as to form simultaneously a spike crossing the staple from one wing to the other and a control means provided with a cap. When the staple is placed in a pocket, the spike penetrates into the fabric when an effort is made to withdraw the billfold. The spike can be retracted by applying pressure to the cap, the wire coming to rest on the base of the cut-out of the staple. Locking means formed by a lug and a groove in the cap make it possible to prevent axial movement of the cap.

Le dispositif comprend un cavalier (1) muni de moyens de fixation (5) à l'objet à retenir, par exemple un portefeuille. Ce cavalier supporte un fil d'acier (2) plié de manière à constituer simultanément une pointe (17) traversant le cavalier d'une aile à l'autre et un moyen de commande muni d'un capuchon (16). Lorsque le cavalier (1) est placé sur une poche, la pointe (17) pénètre dans le tissu lorsqu' on essaie de retirer le portefeuille. Une rétraction de la pointe (17) est possible par une pression sur le capuchon (16), le fil venant s'appuyer sur le fond du découpe (10) du cavalier. Des moyens de verrouillage constitués par un ergot (15) et une rainure (18) du capuchon permettent d'empêcher un déplacement axial du capuchon.
