Abstract (en)
The installation comprises principally a metallurgical casting vessel (1), a horizontal continuous casting ingot mould (7) and a seal (11) connecting this ingot mould to this vessel, the seal (11) being an element made from refractory material formed from two contiguous parts (14) and (15) having between them a full cross-section difference. Moreover, the internal profile of the channel (10) made in the seal is of uniform shape, at least in the part of the seal (11) of smaller full cross-section, and the channel (10) is completely uninterrupted at the seal-ingot mould connection. Moreover, means are provided for cooling the part of smaller full cross-section (15). <IMAGE>

L'installation selon l'invention comprend principalement un récipient métallurgique de coulée (1), une lingotière (7) de coulée continue horizontale et un joint 11 de raccordement étanche entre cette lingotière et ce récipient, le joint (11) étant un corps en matériau réfractaire formé de deux parties contiguës (14) et (15) présentant entre elles une différence de section droite pleine. En outre, le profil interne du canal (10) ménagé dans le joint est de forme régulière, au moins dans la partie du joint (11) de plus faible section droite pleine et le canal (10) ne présente aucune discontinuité au niveau du raccord jointlingotière. De plus, des moyens sont prévus pour refroidir la partie de plus faible section droite pleine (15.)
