A stove for insertion in an existing open-fire fireplace, equipped with a positioning and sealing device (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 10) making it completely removable, characterised in that the positioning and sealing device (1, 2, 3, 5, 6 and 10) consists of horizontal slideways (1) fixed to the bottom of the existing fireplace, of a vertical frame (2) connected to the slideways (1) perpendicularly to their plane, of a front fitting (3) for the removable stove (4) cooperating with the vertical frame (2) and adapted to ensure the sealing by crushing of a seal (5) and of a device (6) promoting the sliding of the lower portion of the removable stove (4) on the horizontal slideways (1).
