The brush for surface working is designed in particular as an abrasive and polishing brush in the form of a round or end brush with a carrier (3) sitting on a spindle (2) and a wire edging (4) which is directed to the outside from the carrier (3) or forwards in extension of the spindle (2) and is made of steel, brass, copper or the like. The wire edging (4) is at least partly set with abrasive, such as diamond dust or diamond chips, and can have an electroplating (6) of copper or the like as backing for the abrasive or can be pre-copper-plated. The diamond dust or the diamond particles (5) are applied to the wires of the wire edging (4) or its additional plating (6) by means of an electroplating bath. The polishing and abrasive action of brushes of this type can be varied within wide limits solely by different contact pressure on the surfaces to be worked, the consumption of abrasive and polishing medium in addition being greatly reduced and the service life of tools of this type being considerably increased. <IMAGE>

Die Bürste für Oberflächenbearbeitung ist insbesondere als Schleif- und Polierbürste in Form einer Rund- oder Endbürste mit einem auf einer Spindel (2) sitzenden Träger (3) und einem davon nach außen oder in Verlängerung der Spindel (2) nach vorn gerichteten Drahtbesatz (4) aus Stahl, Messing, Kupfer oder dergleichen ausgebildet. Der Drahtbesatz (4) ist zumindest teilweise mit Schleifmittel, wie Diamantstaub oder Diamantsplitter, besetzt und kann einen galvanischen Überzug (6) aus Kupfer oder dergleichen als Träger für das Schleifmittel aufweisen bzw. unterkupfert sein. Der Diamantstaub bzw. die Diamantpartikel (5) sind mittels eines Galvanisierbades auf die Drähte des Drahtbesatzes (4) bzw. auf deren zusätzliche Beschichtung (6) aufgebracht. Die Polier- und Schleifwirkung derartiger Bürsten kann allein durch unterschiedlichen Andruck an die zu bearbeitenden Oberflächen in weiten Grenzen variiert werden, wobei außerdem der Verbrauch an Schleif- und Poliermittel stark verringert und die Standzeit derartiger Werkzeuge beträchtlich erhöht wird.
