Corner or edge protectors are used on cartons or the like for the connection, strengthening and/or bordering of the corners and edges. The protector has a strip (1) with continuously smooth legs (11). Provided on the longitudinal sides (13) of the legs (11) are spikes (2) which are inclined at an acute angle in the direction of the spikes on the opposite longitudinal side. Kanten- oder Eckbeschläge dienen an Kartons o. dgl. zur Verbindung, Verstärkung und/oder Einfassung der Kanten und Ecken. Der Beschlag weist einen Streifen (1) mit ununterbrochen glatten Schenkeln (11) auf. An den Längsseiten (13) der Schenkel (11) sind Spitzen (2) vorgesehen, die unter einem spitzen Winkel in Richtung auf die Spitzen der gegenüberliegenden Längsseite geneigt sind. Die Beschläge können zu einem Werkzeugstreifen zusammengefaßt sein.
