[origin: WO8404704A1] A porous and/or fibrous matrial (10) is impregnated with a liquid impregnating means by bringing the material in a dry and heated condition into contact with the impregnating means, while the material is subjected to a high vacuum. A fibrous material which is preferably web-shaped, may then be continuously moved through one or more vacuum chambers (57), in which the impregnating means is applied to the web material (10) in an atomized condition. The atomization of the impregnating means is preferably performed by means of a conventional fuel injection pump (62) with associated injection nozzles (68). The impregnated material may be further treated in a hammer mill (70), if desired.

On imprègne un matériau poreux et/ou fibreux (10) au moyen d'un milieu d'imprégnation liquide en mettant le matériau en condition sèche et chauffée en contact avec le milieu d'imprégnation, pendant que le matériau est soumis à un vide élevé. On peut ensuite déplacer continuellement un matériau fibreux de préférence en forme de bande à travers une ou plusieurs chambres à vide (57) où le milieu d'imprégnation est appliqué au matériau en bande (10) sous une forme pulvérisée. On effectue de préférence la pulvérisation du milieu d'imprégnation grâce à une pompe d'injection conventionnelle (62) possédant des buses d'injection (68). Si on le désire, le matériau imprégné peut en outre être traité dans un broyeur à marteaux (70).
