A device for fixing cassette-shaped wall and ceiling elements (14), with a supporting profile (1) which can be fixed on the wall or ceiling or on a substructure, having at least two holding devices (7) for each side of a cassette, which devices are fixable to the supporting profile (1), have supporting bolts (16), and can be displaced and secured in relation to the supporting profile (1) for the purpose of fixing neighbouring sides of a cassette, the wall and ceiling elements having fixing means (20, 21) for appending to the supporting bolts (16), which means are undercut in an angled-off side face (22) and run parallel to the cassette surface, characterised in that each holding device is constructed in the form of two carriages (7) which are displaceable and securable independently of each other and along the supporting profile (1), the fixing elements (12) being accessible via joints (24) between the cassettes (14) for the purpose of fixing the carriages (7) on the supporting profile (1) ; in that a supporting bolt (16), each belonging to one of the neighbouring cassette sides (22), is arranged in the side parts (15) of each carriage (7), and the ends facing each other of these bolts are arranged spaced from each other ; in that the carriages (7) are constructed and displaceable in relation to each other in such a way that the supporting bolts (16), which are as a rule at the same height, become spaced from each other ; and in that the undercut fixing means (21) are constructed so as to be symmetric to the opening (27).
