Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0145696A1] 1. Projectile weapon, in particular an armour piercing weapon, with a barrel (1), and a projectile (2) with a projectile head (20) und with a shaft (21) connected thereto which has stabilising fins (22) and a recoil brake, characterised in that telescopically displaceable hollow cylinders (30, 31) are arranged in the barrel (1) in the region of the shaft (21) ; a space (4), which has a concave curvature, being adjacent to their rearward ends ; said space being provided with an ignitable propellent charge (5') and being formed on the one hand by a wall element (300) secured on the outer hollow cylinder (30) and on the other hand by a wall element (310) which is secured in the inner hollow cylinder (31) with an axially displaceable stop member (310') ; and in that these wall elements (300, 310) are constructed in the form of hollow spheres, whereby, when the ignition takes place by means of an ignition device (7, 70), the axial movement of the hollow cylinders (30, 31) is limited by stop members (305, 315, 316, 310'), and in that the shaft (21) which is constructed in the form of a hollow cylinder has, in the region of the rearward end of the shaft (21), entrainment elements (216) which entrain and position the stabilising fins (22) when the projectile (2) is propelled out along the barrel (1).
