Abstract (en)

1. Stirring apparatus at a continuous casting plant, in particular at a continuous steel casting plant, comprising at least three induction elements (4, 5, 6 ; 4', 5', 6') disposed one after the other at a strand guide and in the longitudinal direction (11) thereof, operated with alternating current for the formation of a magnetic migration field, wherein the phases (R, S, T) of the alternating current are shifted with respect to each other by a fixed phase angle phi, usually of 120 degrees, and each induction element is connected to an own phase (R, S, T) of the at least three-phase alternating current, characterized in that the induction elements (4, 5, 6 ; 4', 5', 6') are electrically connected such that the currents and consequently the intensities and directions of the pertaining electromagnetic fields at at least two neighbouring induction elements (4, 5, 6 ; 4', 5', 6') at any time differ by a phase angle of 180 degrees in addition to the fixed phase angle phi.
