Die Erfindung bezieht sich auf eine Vorrichtung (1) zum Elektropolieren der Innenoberfläche (65) von hohlzylindrischen Körpern mit mindestens einer an der Innenoberfläche entlangführbaren Schwammelektrode (26, 27, 28, 29) sowie mit Einrichtungen zur Führung und zur Versorgung der Schwammelektrode mit Elektrolytflüssigkeit. Bei solchen Vorrichtungen besteht das Problem, das Bedienungspersonal vor Strahlenbelastung zu schützen und die Führung und Anpressung der Schwammelektroden auch bei langen Rohrabschnitten zuverlässig zu gewährleisten. Hierzu sieht die Erfindung vor, daß die Schwammelektrode an einem sich an der Innenoberfläche des hohlzylindrischen Körpers abstützenden, längs deren Krümmungsachse verschiebbaren Fahrgestell (3) gehaltert, gegen diese Innenoberfläche drückbar und um deren Krümmungsachse drehbar ist. Des weiteren können am Fahrgestell (3) in einer senkrecht zu dessen Symmetrieachse (8) ausgerichteten Ebene mehrere um jeweils gleiche Teilungswinkel gegeneinander versetzte Schwammelektroden gehaltert sein. Eine erfindungsgemäße Vorrichtung ist insbesondere für den Einsatz zur Dekontamination von hohlzylindrischen Körpern, insbesondere von Kernkraftanlagen geeignet.
