[origin: US4684374A] Method for the continuous gasification of solid carbonaceous fuel, especially fuel having a high water content such as biomass and brown coal, in which the fuel is indirectly heated by condensing steam. Steam removed from the fuel during drying is then utilized to aid in the gasification of the same, thus producing generator gas, which is directly recovered.

Bei einem Vergaser (1) für feste Brennstoffe wird der Wirkungsgrad dadurch verbessert, daß die Trocknung des Brennstoffes indirekt durch kondensierenden Dampf erfolgt, dessen Kondensat entspannt wird, wobei der entstehende Dampf als Treibdampf zum Absaugen der im Trockner (2) entstehenden Dämpfe dient, und das Dampfgemisch als Oxidationsmittel für den im Brennstoffbett glühenden Kohlenstoff verwendet wird. Das entstehende Generatorgas wird heiß dem Verbraucher zugeführt. Durch diese Maßnahme wird der N2-Gehalt des Generatorgases gesenkt und damit der Heizwert erhöht. Ferner wird das Gebiet für die zu verwendenden Brennstoffe erweitert, indem auch stark wasserhältige Brennstoffe verarbeitet werden können.
