Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0148701A2] 1. An electromechanical lock comprising a bolt (2) having a first notch (28), means (5) with a spring (50) for translating the bolt forwards in the direction of a keeper (G), a turning plug (4) perpendicular to the bolt (2), having an arm (40) which cooperates with the first notch (28), and an electromagnet (3) having a coil (31) capable of being connected to an electrical source and a core (30) which enters the coil, characterized in that it comprises mechanical means (33) integral with the core (30), which cooperate by sliding with the bolt (2) in order to forbid a return movement of the bolt (2) before complete withdrawal of the head (20) of the bolt from the keeper (G) when the coil (31) is energized and in order to allow free translation of the bolt (2) when the coil (31) is no longer being energized, the source supplying to the coil a current which is just that necessary for exerting upon the core (30) a force of attraction equal to or substantially greater than the weight of the core (30) and the mechanical means (33) when the core is in a position of maximum penetration (adhering) into the coil (31), the said current being insufficient for pulling the core (30) into the coil (31) when the core is not substantially in the said position.
