A casting nozzle, comprising a number of longitudinal portions, for supplying molten metal, more particularly molten steel, to a continuous casting chill mould having mould walls (4; 5) which bound a rectangular mould space and move therein exclusively in the casting direction and whose mouthpiece (1) of adapted cross-section, extending over a portion of its longitudinal extension into the mould space (3), has a hollow supporting member (8) of amorphous silica and, bearing thereagainst, a hollow mouth member (9) of boron nitride, the latter falling in the end zone of the mouthpiece as far as its outlet aperture (1") a portion of the wall of the mouthpiece bore and the end face present at that place, characterised in that mouth member (9) and the supporting member (8) cast thereon, which overlap one another, are non-releasably and positively interconnected leaving a crack-shaped gap (10), the gap between the adjoining surfaces of the two ceramic bodies (8, 9) being filled with a sealing compound (11) which has plastic properties at higher temperatures.
