[origin: US4577419A] A high-top athletic or leisure shoe is provided, in which the top portion of the shoe leg is made of padded material which includes a piece of reinforcing material on the outer surface of the shoe at substantially the height of the outer malleolus. At least one two-segment tightening strip is provided extending from the reinforced zone. One segment of the tightening strip rises diagonally from the reinforced zone along the outer surface of the shoe leg to near the upper end of the latter at the back of the shoe, and continues substantially horizontally along the upper end of the inner surface of the shoe leg above the inner malleolus. A second segment rises diagonally from the reinforced zone, and extends across the frontal lacing area of the shoe toward the inner surface of the shoe leg. A provision is made for joining the two segments of the strip over the front and inner surface of the shoe leg so as to adjustably fasten the strip in position with a desired degree of tightness.

L'invention est relative à une chaussure de sports ou de loisirs à tige haute dans laquelle la partie haute de la tige est réalisée en matériau rembourré. Elle comporte une zone en matériau de renfort (7) sur la face extérieure de la chaussure sensiblement au niveau de la malléole externe, au moins une bande de serrage s'étendant depuis ladite zone de renfort, la bande comprenant une première branche (8) remontant depuis ladite zone de renfort en biais le long de la face extérieure de la tige jusqu'au voisinage de l'extrémité supérieure de celle-ci à l'arrière de la chaussure et se prolongeant sensiblement horizontalement le long de l'extrémité supérieure de la face intérieure de la tige au-dessus de la malléole interne et une seconde branche (9) remontant depuis ladite zone de renfort en biais au travers de la zone de fermeture frontale (4) de la chaussure vers la face intérieure de la tige, et des moyens de liaison des deux branches de la bande sur la face intérieure de la tige pour immobiliser la bande dans une position de serrage définie.
