1. Process for reclaiming foundry scrap sands containing used sand mixtures with organic and inorganic binders, such as active and dead-burned bentonite and synthetic resins and optionally additional slurry materials such as coal dust, polystyrene, fine quartz dust, etc., in which process the comminuted and optionally screened foundry sand is subjected, for removal of organic binders, to a thermal regeneration by heating and subsequently to a final cleaning wherein binder redidues adhering to the sand grains are mechanically removed from the grain surfaces, characterized in that the foundry sand, prior to thermal regeneration, is subjected to a dry precleaning step wherein slurry materials adhering to the sand grains, particularly inorganic binders, are removed from the sand grains, and in that the removed slurry materials are subsequently separated from the thus-precleaned foundry sand, preferably by a gas stream.

Bei einem Verfahren zur Regenerierung von Gießereischuttsand, der organische und anorganische Bindemittel enthält, wird der zerkleinerte Gießereisand durch Aufprallenlassen und/oder Korn-an-Korn-Reiben trocken vorgereinigt, durch thermische Behandlung regeneriert und anschließend trocken nachgereinigt, wobei abgetrennte Schlämmstoffe durch einen Gasstrom vom Regenerat abgetrennt werden. Eine Vorrichtung zur Durchführung des Verfahrens weist eine Drehtrommel (5, 46, 107) und/oder einen Schleuderradreiniger (102) zur Vorreinigung, einen Fleißbettofen (9, 51, 108) zur theremischen Regenerierung und eine weitere Drehtrommel (10, 59, 109) und/oder einen weiteren Schleuderradreiniger (151) zur Nachreinigung auf und ist in mehreren übereinander aufstellbaren containerartigen Behältern (I bis IX) aufgenommen.
