[origin: US4678184A] The exercise apparatus includes a motor-reduction gear unit (10, 11) controlling an input shaft (20), and mounted on a frame (1). A drum (50) receives a cable (5) at the end of which there is placed a detector (155) and then a handle (56). Between the shaft (20) and the drum (50) there are mounted in parallel firstly a freewheel transmission (36) and, secondly an electromagnetic powder clutch (35). Various pre-adjusted control values for exciting the clutch (35) enable accurate adjustment of the apparatus, in particular for exercises of the "servo-controlled work", "static work", or "direct work" types, to be accompanied by "rest" phases.

L'appareil d'exercice comprend sur un bâti (1) un motoréducteur (10, 11) commandant un arbre d'entrée (20). Un tambour (50) reçoit un câble (5) à l'extrémité duquel est placé le détecteur (155) puis la poignée (56). Entre l'arbre (20) et le tambour (50) sont montés en parallèle, d'une part, une transmission à roue libre (36) et, d'autre part, un embrayage électromagnétique à poudre (35). Différentes valeurs de commande préréglées pour l'excitation de l'embrayage (35) permettent d'ajuster précisément l'appareil, notamment pour des exercices de «travail asservi», «travail statistique», «travail direct», accompagnés de phases «repos».
