[origin: US4767266A] A system for sealing the peripheries of rotating rotor blades is disclosed in which a seal ring is mounted to the stationary casing adjacent the blade tips. The inner surface of the seal ring defines a plurality of grooves, each groove having a generally triangular shaped cross section. The longitudinal and radial dimensions of the grooves may be identical, or may vary along the longitudinal direction of the seal ring.

Selon une forme de réalisation, la profondeur des divergents croît d'amont en aval. Les rainures sont formées à partir d'au moins une gorge hélicoïdale.
