Verfahren zum Entschlichten von Baumwolle und baumwollhaltigen Geweben in stark alkalischer wäßriger Lösung mit Alkalihypochlorit, bei dem man dem wäßrigen Bad 0,5 bis 8,0 g/l eines in wäßriger alkalischer Lösung löslichen tertiären Hydroxyalkylamins, eines oxethylierten und/oder oxpropylierten Ethylendiamins, eines oxethylierten Polyethylenimins oder Malonsäure, Cyanursäure eines Cyanursäurederivates, eines Harnstoffderivates, Cyanoguanidin, Oxazolidon, Pyrrolidon, N-Methylpyrrolidon oder N-Methylimidazol oder ihre Mischungen als Aktivator für das Hypochlorit zusetzt, und die Verwendung von Aktivator für Hypochlorit bei der Entschlichtung von Baumwolle und baumwollhaltigen Geweben in stark alkalischen wäßrigen Lösungen.
