Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0151767A2] In the process for the hydrocracking of coal under pressure, pulverised coal together with fine catalyst particles is pasted with an asphalt-free mixture of middle oil and heavy oil and treated with hydrogen at 100 to 400 bar and 420 to 490 DEG C. The reaction products are passed into a hot separator, a distillate oil for pasting the coal and a residue are separated off as bottom product (sludge), and the gases which leave at the top of the separator and contain the oil produced are passed directly over a fixed bed of hydrogenation catalysts.
