Eine höhenverstellbare Standsäule für Sitzmöbel weist ein in einem Führungsrohr (6) teleskopartig verschiebbares Spindelrohr (7) auf, an dessen unterem Ende Rastsegmente (1) eingehängt sind, welche durch einen darin auf und ab bewegbaren Rastkonus (5) aufspreizbar sind. Die Rastsegmente (1) werden aussen von einer Ringfeder (12) umfasst, die der Spreizkraft des Rastkonus (5) entgegenwirkt. Im Innern des Führungsrohres (6) sind aufeinanderfolgend ringförmige Nuten (32) vorgesehen, in welche die Ringfeder (12) einrastet. Mit dieser Konstruktion kann in einfacher und dennoch robuster Weise eine feinstufige Höhenverstellung vorgenommen werden. Die Konstruktion ist im Sinne eines Baukastensystems zu komfortableren Varianten mit Gewichtsausgleichfeder aufbaubar.
