Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0152791A2] 1. An actuating mechanism with a perpendicular control linkage for use in a movable sash forming part of a window or door or the like, which can be lifted for moving or lowered under its own weight into the closing position, said control linkage comprising a locking finger shaped in its cross section like a flat rectangle (3) guided movable within an essentially U-shaped carrier rail (1), provided with a locking slot (4) with an enlarged extremity (4'') behind the slotted recess (5) in the web (1') of the carrier rail, which may engage with its narrow section (4') with a locking element (6) forming a part of the fixed frame in a locking position, after its enlarged head section (8) protruding beyond the aperture in the web of the carrier rail and the enlarged extremity, featuring, in a certain distance behind the locking finger (3) a slide (10) which is guided within the carrier rail (1) and kept with the locking finger (3) in a counteracting actuating mechanism (11) wherein the slide (10) supports an abutment (12), located diagonally to its direction of movement, guided in the area of the slotted recess (5) in the web (1') of the carrier rail (1) as a minimum until having nearly reached the rear side of the locking finger (3), the arrangement being such that the projecting section (8) of the locking element (6) of the casement protrudes behind the locking finger (3) (Fig. 2 and 3), whereas the abutment (12) is engaged below.
