Fixing device for window bars abutting at both sides on a window glass (17), with in each case a holding rail (4, 4a) the width of which is less than that of the window bar (3, 22, 24) and which extends parallel to the window bar over the window opening, the associated window bar being secured to said holding rail, and with a holding angle element (6, 6a) for holding the holding rails (4, 4a), said holding angle element being adapted to be secured in the glass rebate on the window frame, characterised in that a) the holding angle element (6, 6a) is constructed as a U-profile, with arms (9, 9a, 12) aligned parallel to the face of the window pane (17), and a web (10, 14) aligned parallel to the edge surface of the window pane (17), b) the arms (9, 9a, 12) form U-profiles as viewed in cross-section for accommodating the holding rail (4, 4a), c) the holding angle element (6, 6a) is made in two pieces (part 7 and part 8) by a division in the web (10, 14), and one web part is insertable as a strap (14) into the other web part (10) which is constructed with a U-profile as seen in section, and d) a fixing aperture (11, 15) is provided one in each of the web part (10) and the strap (14), for receiving a fixing means for securing the two parts (7 and 8) of the holding angle element (6, 6a) in the glass rebate.
