Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0152931A2] A method of running a monovalent generator-absorption heat pump, up to a heating capacity of approximately 20 kW, and such a pump are described. In order to be able to produce the multi-stage periodically acting absorption heat pump with as small as possible a number of devices and as far as possible without fault-susceptible, maintenance- requiring and energy-consuming components or aggregates which require maintenance, in particular a solution pump, it is envisaged to operate with a periodic change of the operating phases generation with condensation and evaporation with absorption at different pressure levels, in the generation phase high-temperature heat being supplied via the generator to a working-substance solution circuit and available heat being imparted to heating water on the condensation of the vapour created on the condenser, and during the absorption phase low-temperature heat being supplied to the coolant in the evaporator and being imparted in the form of available heat in the absorber to heating water, and the high or low-temperature heat supply being alternately switched on when the heating water return run or forward run temperature falls below a predetermined lower limit temperature and switched off when the heating water return run or forward run temperature exceeds a predetermined upper limit temperature.
