This evaporator consists of a double-walled tubular jacket (3, 4) with an inlet (11) for the liquid refrigerant, arranged in the upper part and, preferably also arranged in the upper part and on the diametrically opposite side to the inlet (11), an outlet (12) for the refrigerant in vapour form.
