Abstract (en)
The track is sectioned by insulating shoes where positive and negative supply voltages would meet on a common conductor. The two supply lines to a DC motor are energised from diode bridges whose junctions are wired to wheels of the locomotive A reversing switch with a supplementary contact prevents movement after a switching overvoltage pulse. A transformer is provided, having a 16V AC sec. winding (2) for supplying electromagnetic equipment and lighting points. A 12V rectified sec. winding (1) for the motors, has a facility for switching a 24V DC relay supply. An auxiliary sec. winding (AUX) gives 24V DC to the relays of locomotives moving within the protected section.
