Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0154251A2] The invention relates to a method and a device for conditioning stacked paper products, principally before and/or after use as printed matter, if appropriate in the form of books or inner books, air being removed from the stack until a vacuum is established, preferably between 1 to 30 torr, at surrounding temperatures and stack temperatures of preferably from 10 to 40 DEG C. The stack is then heated, starting from the outer edge zone, and steam is introduced into the stack until saturation of the paper, and then, in order to cool the stack to the temperature of the standard atmosphere, the stack is treated with standard atmosphere, preferably at 10 to 40 DEG C, and at 50 to 60% relative humidity.
