[origin: WO8501178A1] A heat cap (30) for applying heat to hair on a user's head, primarily to pile or row (42) of hair along the top of a user's head. The heat cap (30) is shaped to conform substantially to the shape of the user's head with the pile of hair thereon so as to apply heat evenly to the hair. An electrical heating coil (124) is disposed in and attached to the heat cap only in those areas (52) where heat is desired for the hair and is absent in areas (54) of the heat cap where it is undesirable to apply heat to the head. An adjustable flap (62, 64) with an attachment (66, 68) on each side of the heat cap enables the size of the cap to be adjusted to fit different users. The adjustable flaps (62, 64) also tend to hold the cap outward away from the ear and lower sides of the head and can be easily opened to enabe access (60) to the user's ear while the heat cap is being worn. An electrical thermostat automatically brings the heat cap to an optimal temperature and maintains the temperature during the desired conditioning period. The heat cap (30) is manufactured by cutting a plurality of similarly shaped flat pieces (32, 34) and joining them together along certain corresponding sides (36), and then disposing the heating coil (124) between the flat pieces.

Bonnet chauffant (30) permettant d'appliquer de la chaleur aux cheveux de l'utilisateur, notamment à une mèche ou touffe de cheveux (42) sur la tête de l'utilisateur. Le bonnet chauffant (30) est façonné de manière à s'adapter à la tête de l'utilisateur et à ses cheveux, afin d'appliquer la chaleur uniformément sur les cheveux. Un enroulement électrique chauffant (124) est disposé et fixé sur le bonnet uniquement dans les zones (52) où l'on désire exposer les cheveux à la chaleur et est absent dans les zones (54) où il n'est pas souhaitable d'appliquer de la chaleur sur le cuir chevelu. Un volet réglable (62, 64) pourvu d'une attache (66, 68) de chaque côté du bonnet permet de faire varier la taille du bonnet pour l'adapter aux différents utilisateurs. Les volets réglables (62, 64) permettent également d'écarter le bonnet des oreilles et de la partie inférieure de la tête et peuvent être ouverts aisément pour permettre l'accès (60) aux oreilles de l'utilisateur pendant que celui-ci porte le bonnet. Un thermostat électrique amène automatiquement le bonnet à une température optimale et maintient cette température pendant la période désirée de mise en plis. Le bonnet chauffant (30) est réalisé en découpant une pluralité de pièces plates de forme similaire (32, 34) et en les reliant entre elles le long de certains côtés correspondants (36), et en disposant ensuite l'enroulement chauffant (124) entre les pièces plates.
